Dr. Karen Marieke Heine is the President of Marieke, Inc., where she leads strategic business development and serves as a trusted technical advisor to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). With over two decades of experience in government contracting, engineering, and IT leadership, she currently supports the FAA as a Financial Systems Subject Matter Expert, Oracle Database Developer, and Technical Lead for mission-critical systems including EDR, REGIS, CWP, and OBIWAN.

Dr. Heine’s career reflects a strong foundation in systems engineering, software development, and organizational leadership. She previously provided on-site management support to the FAA’s Terminal Service Unit, where she led implementation of time collection systems, drove performance measurement initiatives, enhanced operational processes through automation, and developed training programs to improve workforce readiness.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Heine served as Program Manager and Senior Systems Analyst for Titan Corporation, where she guided teams through full lifecycle software and data warehouse development for federal clients. Her responsibilities spanned strategic planning, systems analysis, process improvement, and enterprise-level software implementation. She began her professional journey as a Systems Engineer at Raytheon E-Systems, supporting large-scale defense systems with network modeling and system design.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Dr. Heine served as a Surface Warfare Officer aboard the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan, where she managed a division of over 50 sailors and led communications and seamanship operations.

Dr. Heine earned her Doctor of Engineering in Engineering Management from George Washington University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Karen enjoys traveling with family and friends, walking, watching sports, playing cards, and solving puzzles. The company name “Marieke” is inspired by her middle name, given in tribute to the song by Jacques Brel. She brings that same passion, energy, and joie de vivre to Marieke, Inc. and its mission to serve clients with excellence.
